Chelsea’s latest signing and Argentina star Enzo Fernandez has hailed club owner Todd Boehly for making it possible for him to move to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £107m.

Recall that Fernandez signed an eight-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea which is regarded as a British-record transfer fee.

The Argentine midfielder’s fee surpassed Jack Grealish’s £100m move from Aston Villa to Manchester City in August 2021.

Fernandez had to undergo his medical on deadline day in Lisbon after a late breakthrough in talks before the paperwork was submitted just in time.

The midfielder in a recent statement has offered his appreciation to Chelsea and Boehly for being persistent.

“I am grateful to Chelsea and its ownership for doing everything they could to make me a part of this project.

“I’m happy and excited to join the Pride of London, to play in the best league in the world and to compete for the biggest trophies.

“I can’t wait to play in front of our fans and help my team-mates on and off the pitch,” Fernandez told the club’s official website.
