Fenerbahce centre-back move to Chelsea is ‘done’.

The latest report has claimed that Chelsea have welcomed a new defender to their squad.

The report revealed the new defender to be Fenerbahce centre-back, Attila Szalai.

This claim was made public by Hungary coach Marco Rossi during a statement with Calciomercato after an event at Circolo della Stampa in Turin.

Rossi, in his statement, stressed that Szalai, who could be suitable for the Italian Serie A, is on the verge of moving to the Premier League, where he would join Chelsea next year.

“It’s hard to name just one player but right now I see very well Attila Szalai, who plays for Fenerbache, but I think he is joining Chelsea,” Rossi said as quoted by Football Italia.

“Clearly, he has been followed by important clubs in Spain, but apparently, his move to Chelsea is a done deal. He would be a great player also for Italian football.”

Szalai, 23, is a centre-back for Fenerbache, who joined the Turkish club from Apollon Limassol FC this year.

While Chelsea are yet to confirm this latest claim, it is however no longer news that the west London club are yet to reach new terms with their centre-back Antonio Rudiger, who could leave the club next summer.

It appears Szalai is a backup plan for Chelsea if Rudiger chooses to leave.
