New chances appeared to have been made in the FA Cup which will affect teams participating in the competition.

A report via popular media outfit the BBC revealed the Football Association are close to scrapping the replays of round three and round four in its entirety.

If this happens, it means that the games that end in a draw at the end of 90 minutes will go to extra time and potentially penalty shootouts.

The move is speculated to have a negative impact on lower league clubs as they always look towards hosting replays as a method to generate revenues.

The report also claimed the two-legged Carabao Cup semi-finals would also be scrapped in favour of the single-leg match-up.

We will have to wait to know if the FA is ready to go-ahead with their decision.

Meanwhile, club football returns this weekend after the second international break this season.
