Manchester United have received an injury boost as their defender Luke Shaw has returned to training.

Pictures of the left-back working with the main group, ahead of the club’s  Sunday’s game at Everton have emerged online.

The England international was sidelined from the squad after he suffered what was described as a “muscle issue” in August.

The injury affected Shaw’s game time as he was limited to only two appearances this season, which was the opening two games of 2023/24, against Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur.

Fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia has also been on the injury list, with the Netherlands international missing the summer tour of the United States and not yet featuring for the side this season.

Owing to the injury, Sergio Reguilon was signed on loan from Tottenham Hotspur as an extra option in the position, while Sofyan Amrabat, Diogo Dalot and Victor Lindelof have also filled in at left-back this season.

Man United have a number of other injury concerns ahead of the visit to Merseyside and Erik ten Hag may provide a further update in his press conference on Friday.
