Chelsea manager and Germany international Thomas Tuchel, in a post-match statement, has confirmed that his side were lucky against Leeds United.

This comes as the Blues hosted Leeds United in a game that almost ended in a win for the visiting side.

The match saw Chelsea midfielder and Italy international Jorginho score twice from the penalty spot, as they came from behind twice to win at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds United had the early lead after Raphinha had put away a first-half penalty.

Mason Mount, however, scored an equaliser for the Blues to make the scoreline 1-1 before Jorginho’s spot-kick seemed to have given the hosts victory.

Joe Gelhardt went on to struck late on to bring the sides level before Jorginho’s late penalty.

Reacting to the Blues recent win, Tuchel said, “I think we deserved to win but of course it’s lucky when you have a late goal in extra time. But coming back twice is very impressive and I’m very happy we turned things around. It was tough work but we didn’t expect anything else.

“We were lucky, we needed this. We were unlucky in the last two games conceding very late goals so maybe this is exactly what we needed.”
