Chelsea have found a replacement for Antony Rudiger in this Leicester City defender

It is no longer news that Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger would soon be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

This comes as Rudiger is yet to reach an agreement with the Blues concerning a new contract, especially as his current contract will expire at the end of this season.

The reports claim that Chelsea are already preparing for life without Rudiger and have already spotted Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana as a possible replacement for the Germany international next summer.

While Chelsea remain eager to keep hold of Rudiger, they have also recognised the threat that he could leave next summer, with Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta also running out of contract.

The European champions are therefore looking at defensive reinforcements, and Goal reports that they have earmarked Fofana as a long-term option.

Fofana is yet to feature this season due to injury but had established himself as one of the Premier League’s most highly-rated defenders before his layoff.

Aside from Chelsea, Manchester United have also taken an interest in Fofana.
