Ahead of the midweek game vs Brighton in the EPL, Chelsea have suffered a double injury blow.

This was confirmed by Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel, who revealed that Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante both sustained injuries during their 3-1 win at Aston Villa on Sunday.

This means Kante and Silva have joined the likes of Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are already out of the Blues team.

Chelsea may have defeated Aston Villa thanks to goals from Jorginho, who scored 2 goals and a goal Romelu Lukaku sealed three points for the Blues, but they have been left to rue more injuries to their squad.

Silva pulled up in the 52nd minute with a hamstring injury, while Kante sustained a recurrence of another knee injury.

When asked whether the duo will likely miss Chelsea’s next match with Brighton, Tuchel told reporters: “I guess so. It is only two days [away] so from today until Wednesday, it is a very short time.

“N’Golo is very painful in exactly the same spot where he had his injury versus Juventus.

“With Thiago, it was his hamstring. Hopefully he got out before it became an injury and from there, we try to continue and find a new squad and strong squad on Wednesday.”
