Despite signing Lukaku, Chelsea to make move for new striker

The latest reports have revealed that the Blues are hoping to sign a new striker next summer transfer window.

This comes after Chelsea signed a new centre-forward in the person of Romelu Lukaku in the recent summer transfer window at a club record deal worth £97.5m.

Chelsea re-signed the Belgian striker to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan, and so far, he has scored four times in six appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side this term.

A latest report via Fichajes claimed Chelsea are keen to sign ‘a companion’ for Lukaku. In order to achieve this, the Blues will need to sell at least one attacker to boost their forward options.

While Kai Havertz and Mason Mount have been of help to the Belgian this season, it, however, seems not to be enough.

The reports claimed Chelsea might enter the race for Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland next summer when a release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract would become active.

However, Chelsea will have to be ready to fend off off competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Man City and Manchester United, among others who are interested in signing the top rated striker.
