Chelsea are close to signing Leicester City defender, Wesley Fofana as he is set to undergo medical with the Blues ahead of a summer move.

A report via The Athletic revealed that Fofana’s medical will take place in the US.

The reports added that the Blues’ new owners took the decision to fly Fofana abroad for the checks “for peace of mind”.

The transfer is expected to be wrapped up by midweek before the window closes.

The deal for Fofana happened after Chelsea had seen three of their bids rejected before both clubs agreed on a fee believed to be over £70million with add-ons.

In another report, German side Bayer Leverkusen have agreed on a season-long loan deal with Chelsea for forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi fly to Germany on Monday for a medical.

The move was in danger of collapse 24 hours ago as Leverkusen wanted an option inserted in the deal.

Talks went into the night with Hudson-Odoi’s representative and brother Bradley able to convince Leverkusen to take the deal on the terms Chelsea wanted.
