Declan Rice Playing Key Role in Arsenal’s Pursuit of Morgan Rogers

Arsenal are reportedly intensifying their efforts to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer, with midfielder Declan Rice said to be playing an important role in the club’s pursuit of the England international.
Rogers has emerged as one of Arsenal’s leading transfer targets following an outstanding campaign with Aston Villa. The versatile attacking midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough season, registering 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions while establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young talents.
According to reports, Arsenal are preparing to step up negotiations and believe an offer in the region of £85 million could persuade Villa to consider a sale. However, the North London club are not alone in the race, with Chelsea also closely monitoring Rogers’ situation ahead of what could become one of the summer’s most competitive transfer battles.
Declan Rice is believed to have taken an active role behind the scenes, using his relationship with Rogers during their time together in England’s World Cup squad to highlight Arsenal’s ambitions and long-term project under Mikel Arteta.
Arteta is understood to be a huge admirer of the 23-year-old due to his versatility, technical ability and capacity to operate in several attacking positions. Arsenal view Rogers as a player capable of adding creativity, energy and goal contributions to an already impressive squad.
Villa secured Rogers from Middlesbrough for around £15 million two years ago, a move that has proven to be a remarkable success. Middlesbrough are also set to benefit financially from any future transfer thanks to a reported 20 percent sell-on clause included in the original deal.
