Paris Saint-Germain have allegedly gained a sudden advantage over Manchester City in the race to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Manchester City continue to be connected with a swoop for the Senegal defender, but negotiations are perceived to have arrived at a stalemate between the two clubs.

Accordingly, Manchester City are allegedly looking to sign another defensive options – with Sevilla defender Jules Kounde supposed to have agreed personal terms with the Citizens – and Kalidou Koulibaly could in this manner be going PSG.

As indicated by report, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested to reinforce their defence following the departure of Thiago Silva, and the Ligue 1 Champions are currently at the top of the line for the 29-year-old.

The report guarantees that Thomas Tuchel’s side are happy to fork out a sizeable figure of £75m for Kalidou Koulibaly, whom Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso has conceded could be on his way out if a reasonable offer is gotten.

Kalidou Koulibaly, who is contracted to Gli Azzurri until 2023, played the full an hour and a half as Napoli got back to Serie A action with a 2-0 win at Parma on Sunday.
