Deal CLOSE: Bayer Leverkusen playmaker to Chelsea: What’s happening?
Chelsea are expected to complete a £90m deal for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz. So what’s happening?
The hold up seems to be because of Bayer Leverkusen’s battles to identify an appropriate replacement.
A Chelsea move for the 21-year-old has been mooted during the recent months, with the playmaker excited about playing under Frank Lampard in the Premier League.

Jan-Aage Jjortoft has addressed to the circumstance, clarifying why Kai Havertz is still not officially Chelsea player.
Re: Havertz
Seems like the main – reason for the delay of a public confirmation of the deal, is that Leverkusen would have liked to be further in replacing him.
It’s strategy. After a big Havertz-fee….any replacement will be more expensive.
