Spain international and Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella in a recent statement admitted that he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge this summer.

This comes amid suggestions that he could be one of several players sold by the club in the coming months.

There have been reports that the Blues are closing in on signing another young defender able to play on the left.

Basel’s 20-year-old star, Renato Veiga, is close to havijg his medical at Cobham after a deal worth £14million was agreed, according to football.london.

A fee of £17million is also expected to seal a deal for Boca Juniors centre-back Aaron Anselmino, although he will likely remain in Argentina for another year.

Cucurella, who the Blues signed for £62million in the first summer of Todd Boehly’s take over has so far outlasted Cobham’s finest even when playing through poor form.

The defender has been impressive with Spain at Euro 2024 and hope to secure a spot under newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca in 2024/25.

However, his impressive performance hasn’t stopped the Blues from pursuing other options though, and an exit is still possible.
