The latest report has revealed that Spanish club Real Madrid have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Croatia defender, Josko Gvardiol.

Gvardiol became a centre of attraction following his fine form at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Croatian emerged as one of the the highest-rated defenders at the tournament, helping his country finish in third place.

He made seven appearances for Croatia during the tournament and scored one goal.

A report via Marca revealed that the Los Blancos are looking to improve their backline and consider the 20-year-old is top priority.

Gvardiol has been at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig since 2020 and any club interested in signing him must be ready to break the bank to afford his hefty fee if his current club are to agree to his departure.
