Tottenham Hotspur’s newest signing, Timo Werner in a statement suggested that the club’s coach Ange Postecoglou convinced him to join the Premier League side.

The German star officially became a Tottenham player on Tuesday after he left RB Leipzig on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season.

Speaking at his first interview with the club’s official website, Werner also revealed the Spurs’ style of play suits him perfectly.

“The manager straight away gave me the feeling that I needed to join the Club, and the way the team plays fits me perfectly,” Werner said.

He added, “I come here to win titles, to win something.”

Werner is likely to make his debut for Tottenham this weekend when they face Manchester United in an away Premier League clash.

This is the second time Werner will be playing for an EPL club, having played for Chelsea, where he struggled to impress before returning to Leipzig.
