Chelsea have continued to be linked for a move for a striker ahead of the summer transfer window deadline with Samu Omorodion being one of their targets.

While previous reports had revealed the Blues could soon seal a move for Omorodion from Spanish side Atletico Madrid, it, however, appears his transfer to Chelsea is now “at risk.”

According to the reports, the transfer was expected to be completed after the end of the 2024 Olympics, where Omorodion was with the Spain team.

However, “serious issues” with the deal have emerged, with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid working to fix it.

In a recent tweet by popular football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Sunday night, he disclosed that there are serious issues for Omorodion’s deal.

He added that the West London side’s move is currently considered at risk but all parties are still working on it.

According to Romano, Chelsea and Atlético are in contact to find solutions as the Omorodion deal could collapse.

While the Blues are keen on signing Omorodion, Atletico Madrid are also in a race to sign Julian Alvarez as his replacement and will do everything to make the transfer happen before the summer window closes.
