Former Chelsea midfielder and manager Frank Lampard has shared his opinion on the club’s performance so far this season.

With the way Chelsea have been playing this campaign, Lampard said the Blues are in a “good position” to challenge for a top-four spor in the Premier League again.

Lampard also stated that he has been impressed by new manager Enzo Maresca’s start at Stamford Bridge.

Recall that Maresca arrived at Chelsea as a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino ahead of this new season.

Pochettino was sacked on mutual agreement despite the west London side finishing in sixth spot, an improvement on 12th position from the 2022/2023 season.

However, under Maresca, optimism is building among supporters once again, with Chelsea sitting fourth on the league table.

Lampard, who has managed the Blues twice in a statement via TNT Sports Mexico, said after two or three years of being in a transition and a difficult time, change of ownership, change of managers, change of players and the squad, there’s a lot of new faces and player.

He stressed that it’s understandable that Chelsea haven’t competed.

Lampard, however, believe they are on their way to competing for the top four spot in the Premier League.
