Chelsea youngster still struggling with knee injury despite return to action

Frank Lampard may have had the luxury of starting Recce James in Chelsea’s loss against Leicester City but the right back is not back to full fitness.

Recce James missed a couple of weeks with a knee injury and club captain Cesar Azpilicueta was used in his absence as Frank Lampard’s side continue their poor run of form.

New reports have now surfaced about Recce James fitness as Chelsea continue their season revival with a tie against Luton Town in the FA Cup.

According to CaughtOffside, the right back was not at his 100% best despite playing the full 90 minutes against Leicester City at the King Power stadium.

The reports added that the knee injury which kept Recce James on the sidelines before is a chronic one, and is still bothering the academy product.

However, he might be rested on Sunday when Chelsea face Luton Town in their FA Cup clash as Cesar Azpilicueta will be deployed in his position.

Frank Lampard will be eager to see his side win maximum three points as they’ve been struggling in the league despite spending big during the summer transfer window.
