Chelsea winger told to leave Stamford Bridge

Former Real Madrid star Marco van Basten has sent a message to Chelsea winger, Hakim Ziyech advising him to leave the west London side.

Van Basten said the Moroccan winger’s situation at Stamford Bridge is ‘not good for football’.

So far this season, Ziyech has made only two appearances in the English top flight, warming the bench in Chelsea’s last two matches.

Ziyech was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge with several clubs lining up for him in the summer transfer window.

Van Basten has urged Ziyech to push for a move away from Stamford Bridge in January to save his career.

“There is another transfer window coming up,” Van Basten told Ziggo Sport.

“It is sad and a shame. Ziyech is a great player. We have to see someone like that, we watch TV for such a player and we come to the stadium.

“It is a pity for the whole of football that he is on the bench. If these kinds of players do not get minutes, it is not good for football.”
