Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has reacted to his side’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Vieira said the Blues were too good for his side as he said he wanted the semi-final defeat to be a platform for his side as he praised the club’s supporters.

Chelsea won the game thanks to two goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount in the second half.

“This is the kind of game the club wants to be involved in. We have to keep building the team, working well, and the fans were unbelievable,” Vieira said in a post-match.

“I believe playing these kinds of games with a lot of tension will make us a better team.

“We had chances and we didn’t score, it’s not just about those chances but the decision-making as well.

“I don’t think it was bad luck. We tried to play our best but Chelsea were too good on the day for us.

“I am proud of the team with their approach to this game. In the first half we were brilliant.”
