Chelsea would have to splash the sum of £70 million if they are keen on signing South American star Moises Caicedo.

This is according to the Sun which revealed Brighton won’t let the Blues target Caicedo leave for anything less than £70m.

The report added that the seagulls would deter any club from making a move for him in January.

Aside from Chelsea, the Ecuador international is also a target for Manchester United and Newcastle United as well.

Caicedo arrived in Brighton from Independiente before spending six months on loan at Beerschot V.A during the first half of last season. Since this January, he has been at the Amex Stadium.

His contract with Brighton doesn’t end until 2025, therefore they are not under pressure to sell him.

With regards to what he has to offer, Caicedo is an excellent passer of the ball from midfield and can drive with the ball towards the final third.

Should Chelsea complete a move for Caicedo, he would join the list of individuals that have moved from Brighton to Stamford Bridge since Todd Boehly took over.
