Chelsea told to complete moves for Juve star

Former Chelsea midfielder, Gustavo Poyet, has advised the Blues on one player they must sign before the pre-season starts.

According to Poyet, Matthijs de Ligt would make a good addition at Chelsea as he urged them to sign him from Juventus this summer.

Poyet stressed that he would be worried if the Blues commence the pre-season without De Ligt.

De Ligt is among the many players that have been linked with a summer move to Chelsea.

Since the departure of Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid, and Andreas Christensen’s departure, Chelsea remain on the lookout for possible replacements.

“The most important position Chelsea should be strengthening is in central defence,” Poyet told Lord Ping.

“De Ligt is an interesting player because when he left his previous club he went somewhere that he needed to improve tactically and dramatically to perform at that level.

“If he wants to move and Chelsea can afford him then he could be an interesting player for them. If Chelsea start pre-season without that top level centre-back, I will be worried.”
