Chelsea’s new permanent manager Mauricio Pochettino seems to be keen on keeping 20-year-old Levi Colwill at Stamford Bridge as the reports claim he has to the club hierarchy not to accept any bid for the player this summer.

Colwill has been described as one of the finest English centre-backs in his age bracket and would be a big loss for the Blues to let him leave.

The England youngster was at Brighton last season on loan where he made 24 appearances across all competitions for the Seagulls.

Owing to his impressive form, Brighton are said to be keen on keeping Colwill beyond this summer, but Pochettino doesn’t want the player to leave Chelsea.

A report via the Guardian revealed Pochettino intends to keep him at Stamford Bridge at all costs.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi in May said at a press conference that he hoped Colwill would play for Brighton next season.

“I hope Levi can play with us next year, but it is the decision of Chelsea. We have to be ready to change some players, but he is a top player for us,” De Zerbi said.
