Chelsea to keep Chalobah at least for the first half of the season

The latest reports have revealed Chelsea are keeping their defender Trevor Chalobah for this season.

This comes as Chalobah commenced his second full season at Stamford Bridge having proven to be a valuable squad member during 2021-22.

He, however, didn’t get the opportunity to feature in the Blues’ opening three Premier League fixtures which sparked speculations regarding his future.

As of then, Chalobah was linked with a loan move at least from Chelsea.

He would however make an appearance in their weekend win vs Leicester City.

With the Blues’ move for Wesley Fofana still in doubt, the Blues are now keen on keeping Chalobah for this season to improve their strength in the central midfield.

Leicester City have insisted that Fofana is not for sale at least not this summer except their bid is met.

Popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, in a recent statement, revealed that it has now been agreed that Chalobah will remain in West London.

Tuchel and co-owner Todd Boehly are said to be happy with the decision to keep the English player at the club for at least the first half of the season.
