Italian club Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Andre Onana is said to be close to completing a transfer to Man Utd ahead of Chelsea, who were also linked with moves for him this summer.

The reports revealed Manchester United have made a substantial move for Onana and are hoping to secure a £43 million deal for the keeper’s signature.

They are keen on signing a new goalkeeper this summer, with David de Gea’s future at Old Trafford now in doubt.

While De Gea has been offered a new deal on largely reduced terms, he is yet to put sign it and now has a much more lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.

He is also aware that the Red Devils want to bring in a new goalkeeper even if he stays, it means his status as the club’s number-one goalkeeper is no longer assured.

Meanwhile, Sport Mediaset reported that Onana is advancing and is close to reuniting with his former manager Erik Ten Hag, at Man United.
