Chelsea have suffered a major transfer blow this summer in their bid to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in the summer transfer window.

A report via the Guardian revealed Chelsea’s hopes of signing Caicedo from Brighton have ‘reached an impasse’ and the Blues may have to look elsewhere for a new midfielder.

Chelsea have seen their latest offer of £70 million for Caicedo, who is their top target, being rejected by the Seagulls.

While Chelsea are set to return to the table with a new offer of £80 million plus add-ons, Brighton on the other hand, will only accept noting less than £100m for the Ecuador international, unless the Blues are willing to let Levi Colwill be included in their new bid as part of a swap deal.

The only challenge now is that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino does not want to lose Colwill as be believes the youngster will become one of the best centre-backs in the EPL.
