Chelsea have suffered another transfer blow this summer amid rumour of their interest in Brighton star Marc Cucurella.

It is believed that Chelsea are one of the clubs that have shown interest in the full-back who was impressive in his first season in the Premier League.

Cucurella signed Brighton from Getafe and helped the Seagulls finish in the top half of the league table.

The Spain international also won the club’s Player of the Year award in his first season at the club and this has seen him linked with a departure from the club this summer.

According to The Athletic, Man City and Chelsea are interested in a deal, but the player would prefer a move to the former.

This linked to his perceived connection with Pep Guardiola, having come through the Barcelona academy.

Though Brighton are not willing to let him leave, they would accept nothing short of £50million price tag on the defender, according to the same report, and Cucurella is said to be happy where he is, not actively seeking a deal.
