The latest report has disclosed that Chelsea could be without one of their key players when they returned to action in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The reports revealed the player missing in action to be Mason Mount, who suffered an injury during the Blues game vs Plymouth in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Mount, who started for Chelsea, hobbled off during the FA Cup fourth round 2-1 win against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

The England international started the clash but was withdrawn in the 96th minute of the match.

Fellow midfielder Saul Niguez was brought in to replace Mount.

When Mount was substituted, the scoreline was at 1-1 after Macaulay Gillesphey and Cesar Azpilicueta had scored for their respective clubs in the first half.

Despite Mount’s injury, Chelsea were able to find the back of the net in the extra time thanks to a late goal from Marcos Alonso.

It is, however, unclear the nature of Mount’s injury and if he would be available for the Blues game in Abu Dhabi next week.
