Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has finally shared his thoughts on the new role he has found himself under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Mason Mount was one of Frank Lampard’s most trusted players during his time at Chelsea and eyebrows were raised when he was not among the starting eleven for Tuchel’s first game.

However, things have changed ever since as he spent the next 185 minutes as a key figure in the team, occupying crucial central positions.

With and without the ball, Mount has played as a No.10 or, for large parts of Chelsea’s victory against Tottenham Hotspur, he played as a de facto false-9.

With the blues keeping a clean sheet in a their matches under Tuchel and putting in some impressive performance, Mount insisted that this is the style the manager wants the team to play and it’s been working well.

Mount stated that it’s something they need to keep working at because it’s new, different for some of the players.

He noted that against Tottenham Hotspur, he was playing a bit like a false nine, dropping into that ten position and helping the midfield out and the team are all learning but it’s going well so far.

With Chelsea still in the race for a top four finish, Mount noted that it’s a positive for them and makes it difficult for the teams they come up against as they are never going to know tactics that are coming with.

The England international added that the team are working on different formations, different tactics day in, day out at training as their are focused on getting better and better and those wins.
