Chelsea forward Oliver Giroud has sent a strong message to those criticising his performance for France at the ongoing Euro 2020.

France are the favourite going into the tournament, but Giroud’s place in the team was put into doubt when Karim Benzema was invited back to the squad after a five-year absence.

Benzema has been starting ahead of the Chelsea forward ever since the tournament began.

Giroud was an unused substitute in the 1-0 victory over Germany last Tuesday and came off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Hungary on Saturday.

However, speaking with Parisian outlet Le Figaro, Giroud debunked claims that at the age of 34, he’s too old for the national team.

Giroud stated that he’s not finished, far from it, and fans should count on him.

According to Giroud, grandpa is not dead, almost 35, but he still has the hunger of a 20-year-old guy.

Giroud noted that the France team has a reasonably incredible strike force, but he have a card to play because there are no other players with his profile.

The former Arsenal forward noted he is in the team to respond and bring what he want, adding that he know how to do it with the team.

Giroud added that have he has the desire and, if the young people want to move him, they will have to be ready.
