Chelsea are set to unveil their newest player this summer in the person of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

This comes as reports revealed that Koulibaly has signed a contract that will see him become the Blues’ latest and second signing of the summer.

Koulibaly’s deal comes after the Blues welcome Raheem Sterling to their squad from Man City, making him their first addition of the summer.

The Senegalese defender is said to have passed his medical at the club, and all that is left is for the Blues to announce the completion of his deal.

Like Sterling, he may have to join the rest of Chelsea’s squad on tour in the US.

The Blues have been in a race to bolster their attack as well as their defence this summer as they hope to compete in the EPL, UCL and others next season.

With the departure of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen as free agents this summer, it became necessary for the Blues to welcome new defenders.
