Chelsea are not relenting in their bid to sign a striker this summer and has already identified an alternative if they fail to secure the signing of Erling Haaland.

Haaland’s performance for Borussia Dortmund has caught the eye of top teams in Europe, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City willing to sign him.

However, he won’t come at a low price as Borussia Dortmund are willing to make a considerable profit from his sales.

Chelsea have now identified Villarreal forward Gerard Moreno as a perfect replacement for Haaland.

The Spain international had an impressive season with Villarreal in La Liga and the Europa League. He scored 30 goals in all competitions to help Unai Emery’s side win their first-ever piece of silverware.

His form got him a place in the Spain national team for Euro 2020, and the report suggests Chelsea could turn to him if they cannot land their first-choice transfer target Haaland.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea believes he will be able to challenge Timo Werner, who has failed to live up to the hype that brought him to Stamford Bridge.
