Premier League side, Chelsea are reportedly going to table another offer for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde during the next transfer window.

Jules Kounde was Chelsea’s top target this summer but the Blues failed to agree on a deal with Sevilla before the transfer window was shut.

Both clubs failed to agree on a transfer fee despite that personal terms has been reached with the player.

Sevilla were demanding Kounde’s €80 million release clause while Chelsea were willing to do business with the Spanish side for €55 million.

The blues bid was rejected and Kounde is set to continue as a Sevilla player.

However, Chelsea are reportedly willing to bid for the player during the January transfer window as they only have three established defenders in Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva.

Though Trevoh Chalobah has been called up to the first team, the sale of Kurt Zouma to West Ham United means Chelsea need a replacement for the Frenchman.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea will make an offer for Kounde in January and if things did not work out they will wait till June when his price tag might have reduce.
