Chelsea set to beat off rival for the signature of young talent, make an initial offer to Brazilian club

Chelsea are not relenting in their bid to form a squad full of young talent as they reportedly submit an offer for young Palmeiras midfielder Gabriel Menino.

Gabriel Menino has attracted interest from top clubs in Europe but according to reports from The Sun (via TNT Sports), Chelsea has gone from displaying interest in the 20-year-old to making an offer for the wonderkid.

According to the report, the Thomas Tuchel team have reportedly made an offer of around £13-million as they attempt to secure a deal for the youngster.

With some clubs across the globe facing the impact on Coronavirus, the reports added that Chelsea is hoping to take advantage of the financial crisis that Brazilian clubs.

However, Chelsea’s offer does not give them an assurance of signing the youngster as the likes of Juventus FC, Atlético Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur FC are other clubs expressing interest.

Menino who is just 20-year-old has become popular for his versatility as he’s played all over the midfielder for Palmeiras, including starts at right-back.

He has made 54 starts in all competitions for the Brazilian club as he played a significant part in their run to the Copa Libertadores trophy, one of the main reasons clubs are eyeing him.
