Chelsea are reportedly preparing to activate two transfer clauses worth a combined £80 million as part of a summer double swoop for Liam Delap and Dean Huijsen.

New manager Enzo Maresca is looking to bolster his squad ahead of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States this June.

With the tournament fast approaching, the Blues are aiming to finalise key transfers early to ensure the new signings are eligible to participate. The summer transfer window will feature an exceptional early registration period, opening from Sunday, June 1, to Tuesday, June 10.

This limited window is designed specifically to allow clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester City, to register new players for the expanded Club World Cup.

Following this special window, the main summer transfer period will resume on Monday, June 16, and run until Deadline Day on Monday, September 1. All Premier League clubs will be able to conduct business throughout both phases.

Chelsea are hoping to take full advantage of the early window to secure Delap and Huijsen swiftly, integrating them into the squad in time for the U.S.-based competition.

The club’s proactive approach reflects Maresca’s ambition to hit the ground running in his first season and ensure Chelsea are competitive on both domestic and international fronts.
