Chelsea reveal fee for Lukaku

Chelsea are ready to let their striker Romelu Lukaku leave as they have revealed his transfer fee.

A report via the Daily Mail revealed Italian side AS Roma will have to pay £37million to Chelsea if they want to sign Lukaku on a permanent deal next summer.

Lukaku is currently signed to Roma on loan and has scored seven goals in his eight appearances in all competitions for the Italian club.

Having established a fine start to life under Jose Mourinho, Roma could explore how to retain the Belgian beyond this season.

Chelsea are said to have put a £37m release clause into his contract when they negotiated a £5m loan fee with the Italian club.

It’s no news that the Blues had been intent on selling the Belgian star in the recent summer transfer window until he turned down a move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Lukaku also effectively thwarted a switch to Inter Milan and then decided he did not want to join Juventus before he finally moved to Roma.
