It seems Chelsea still have the chance to sign Jules Kounde this summer and they are not ready to let the opportunity pass them by.

This comes as the reports from Spain, as per The Mirror, suggest the Blues remain ahead of Barcelona to sign Kounde.

Xavi had attempted to persuade the France international to consider a transfer and move to Camp Nou this summer, but the 23-year-old is said to have verbally agreed on a move to Stamford Bridge.

It is no longer news that Kounde has been a long-term target of the Blues as they have repeatedly tried to sign in the past.

This summer might be their chance to land their dream target.

The reports revealed that Chelsea and Sevilla are set for fresh talks in the coming days in the hope that all parties can reach an agreement for a deal to be completed.

The La Liga side need funds to reinvest into their squad and Kounde is seen as the ideal departure for it to happen.
