Premier League side Chelsea have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona this summer.

Chelsea have not hide their intentions of signing a striker this summer, with Erling Haaland linked with the blues.

However, Thomas Tuchel will not be having Haaland in the team as Borussia Dortmund are not letting him leave the club this summer.

Griezmann has now been identified as his replacement with Barcelona, looking to drastically cut their wage bill this summer.

The French international, alongside several first-team players including Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti are set to be offloaded.

However, new report from Daily Star revealed that Chelsea were offered the opportunity to sign the French forward this summer and even held talks with the player’s representatives.

But the blues decided not to progress negotiations any further as their main focus; this summer is to recruit a new central striker who is Erling Haaland.

Griezmann performed well at the just concluded European Championship and might be considered as a backup plan for Barcelona if a deal is not agreed with any club.
