Chelsea rejected offer to sign this PSG defender

A report has revealed that the Blues had the opportunity to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer earlier this summer after the French club offered him to them.

But it seems as at then, their main focus was to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

However, recent reports have shown that Chelsea have lost out in the race to sign Kounde, who is now close to being a Barcelona player.

This summer seems to have been a tough one for the Blues, who have endured a mixed period in the transfer market.

A report via Bild journalist Christian Falk, revealed that PSG wanted to send Kehrer to Stamford Bridge at some point in recent weeks.

Chelsea were said to have rejected that chance out of hand with Thomas Tuchel seemingly having no interest in signing a familiar face.

Tuchel had signed Kehrer during his time at Parc des Princes in 2018, and he went on to make 27 Ligue 1 appearances during his first season in Paris.

However, injury held him down in the 2019-20 season as he lost his place in the team, and he has since been used on a rotational basis.
