Chelsea Reject Como’s £22m Bid for Trevoh Chalobah as Blues Hold Out for £35m

Chelsea have turned down an opening offer from Italian side Como for defender Trevoh Chalobah, with the Serie A club submitting a bid worth more than £22 million for the England international.
Despite Como’s interest, Chelsea are understood to value the 26-year-old at around £35 million and are unwilling to sanction a sale below that figure. The Blues are open to letting Chalobah leave this summer as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of a new era under incoming manager Xabi Alonso, who officially takes charge on July 1.
A product of Chelsea’s renowned Cobham Academy, Chalobah has been with the club since the age of eight and established himself in the first team during Thomas Tuchel’s tenure in the 2021/22 season. Since then, he has made 151 senior appearances, becoming a dependable option across the back line. His impressive performances also earned him a late call-up to England’s World Cup squad.
A move to Como would reunite Chalobah with former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who is now the Italian club’s head coach. Although the pair never played together on the pitch, they were both part of Chelsea’s squad that defeated Manchester United in the 2018 FA Cup final.
Como are aiming to strengthen their squad after securing Champions League qualification for the first time in the club’s history under Fabregas. However, unless they significantly improve their offer, Chelsea are expected to stand firm on their £35 million valuation before considering any deal for the highly-rated defender.
