A report via the Sun UK has revealed Chelsea are keen on selling Hakim Ziyech to Italian club AS Roma.

The report revealed the west London side are holding out for Roma to buy out-of-favour Ziyech so as not to sell the Moroccan star to a Premier League rival.

Ziyech, who was impressive in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has attracted interest from top-flight clubs across Europe, including Roma, Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton.

However, his two-and-a-half-year spell at Stamford Bridge is expected to come to an end by the close of the January transfer window next Tuesday.

According to the report, the 29-year-old is eager to move to Italy for a fresh start after struggling for game time at Chelsea.

Roma, however, wouldn’t be able to sign Ziyech unless they sell their highly-rated youngster Nicolo Zaniolo in order to raise the £25million for the Chelsea star.

Chelsea are said to be happy to wait for Roma to gather the needed funds and are keen not to offload the former Ajax star to another top-flight club in England.
