Chelsea players advised to improve their connection with Lukaku

Popular football pundit Alan Shearer in a recent statement, has urged the Blues squad to improve their connection with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

This comes after Chelsea dropped out of the Premier League title race on Saturday as they lost to Man City in a 1-0 scoreline.

The outcome of the match saw the Blues remain at the second spot but are now 13 points behind Man City, and there is no way they and Liverpool, who are in the third spot, will be able to meet up with them.

Shearer stressed that Chelsea were wasteful vs Man City as they had chances; he added that not all the blame should fall on Lukaku.

Speaking on Match of the Day on Saturday night, Shearer said: “For that relationship to work there needs to be a better understanding from him and his teammates. So, they know how to get the best work for the team.

“That certainly didn’t feel like that today. They got into so many good spaces and were wasteful. Not all of it was his fault, some of it was his teammates.”

Chelsea will have to focus on the UCL, Carabao League and the FA cup for this season.
