The recent report has revealed that German club Bayern Munich made a move for Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz last summer.

According to BILD, Bayern had considered bringing in Havertz after losing their key forward Robert Lewandowski to Spanish club Barcelona.

Despite signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool, the German club chiefs were keen on finding someone capable of filling the No9 role.

Aside Havertz, Bayern Munich were also heaving linked with a move for Tottenham star and England captain Harry Kane.

But Kane has continued to stay committed to Tottenham even under their current manager Antonio Conte.

Bayern eventually turned to Havertz, despite him netting just 14 times in all competitions last term.

The 23-year-old was a prolific scorer during his time at Bayer Leverkusen, where he scored 38 goals in his final two years.

And Allianz Arena chiefs felt Havertz ticked all the right boxes for Julian Nagelsmann’s fluid system.

However, despite witnessing the departure of his compatriot Timo Werner from Chelsea to RB Leipzig, Havertz chose to stay put at Stamford Bridge.
