Chelsea newest signing accused of not being humble

Former Spain goalkeeper, Santiago Canizares, has dragged Chelsea’s latest signing, Joao Felix, as he revealed the Portugal star ‘is not humble enough.’

Recall that the Blues completed moves for Felix on Wednesday in a deal worth £11 million from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

He is expected to return to Spain after six months as Chelsea doesn’t have the option to buy him permanently.

Canizares in a recent statement spoke on Felix’s attitude.

“The club [Atletico Madrid] isn’t to blame for anything about Joao Felix,” Canizares told Radio Marca.

“On the contrary – they placed a trust in him that perhaps he didn’t deserve, he was hired for a fortune. He has talent, but he has to change his personality.

“He’s the most affected because the club paid an amount that perhaps was for more established players.”

He continued, “He[Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone] is partly to blame for not being able to exploit him [Felix].

“But the most important thing a coach can count on is the player’s will and the player has never been humble enough to overcome difficult moments within the club.”

Felix move to Atletico Madrid from Benfica for £113m in July 2019.
