Chelsea needs consistency – Azpilicueta

Chelsea defender and captain Cesar Azpilicueta has reacted to their recent loss to Southampton in the EPL.

The Blues suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Saints on Tuesday and Azpilicueta in a recent statement admitted the Blues have lacked consistency this summer.

The defender noted that the Premier League is difficult but Chelsea must step up their game.

“It is very clear that it is not a good start,’ said Azpilicueta as he analysed the performance.

‘This is a reflection of the inconsistency in the games where we had good spells but we were not able to get something. Some games we played well and others not so well. We need to find the consistency to keep winning games. That is what will take us higher in the table where we want to be.’

The Blues will hope to return to winning ways when they face West Ham United this weekend.

As of now, Chelsea are seated on the 9th spot on the EPL log.
