Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has been one of the most impressive players at the club this season.

Gallagher, who has often worn the armband this season in the absence of the injured Reece James and Ben Chilwell, has led by example in the middle of the park, impressing with his technical and physical qualities in and out of possession.

Recall that he penned a five-year deal in 2020 and is already approaching the final 18 months of his current Chelsea contract.

The Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino in a statement spoke on the chances of the 23-year-old extending his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond that.

‘First of all, you have to see how they feel, in this case the player and the club, the intentions of either side. It’s about feeling good together.

‘He’s a player who is doing fantastically. He’s an amazing player and we are so happy with how he is doing things.’
