Chelsea make enquiry for this Juventus defender

With a few days to the end of the January transfer window, Chelsea seems to be focused on signing a new defender as the recent reports revealed that the Blues have made an enquiry for the signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus.

With Ben Chilwell ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, Chelsea are keen on signing a short-term replacement at left wing-back.

Chelsea’s attempt to recall Emerson Palmieri as short-term possibilities have been blocked by French club Lyon.

According to a report via Gazzetta dello Sport, the European champions have asked whether signing Sandro before the end of January is a realistic option.

Sandro, 31, is a key member of the Juventus squad led by Massimiliano Allegri’s and so far, the Brazil international has made 27 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

It is unlike that the Italian club will consider any proposal tor a key player like Sandro without finding a replacement, although it cannot be completely ruled out as the Brazilian has less than 18 months remaining on his current contract with the Old Ladies.
