With the winter transfer window set to commence in January, Chelsea have been linked with moves for some players as they hope to strengthen their team following some poor performances so far this season.

While Sheffield United’s Sander Berge was a target for Chelsea under the previous owner Roman Abramovich before he made his move to England.

The Norway midfielder was linked with Chelsea in 2020 when he was at Genk, but he ended up joining Sheffield United instead.

However, according to the latest report from Jeunes Footeux, as cited by news account ChelsTransfer below, Chelsea are again one of the clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old defensive midfielder.

The report revealed Berge could leave Sheffield United in January and could join one of Chelsea and Liverpool, who are also interested in signing him.

Berge’s contract doesn’t end until 2024, which means he would be an expensive buy should one of Chelsea or Liverpool decide to make a move to try and sign him.

While Chelsea could use a defensive midfielder in their squad, they are unlikely to make a move for Berge.
