Chelsea linked with moves for Frankfurt striker

Chelsea are in the race to sign new strikers this summer transfer window after the duo of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku failed to impress.
Ahead of a new season, Chelsea have been linked with moves to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The recent reports disclosed that the West London side have accelerated their moves for the striker.
Ekitike who signed for Frankfurt on a permanent transfer from French side Paris Saint-Germain last summer put up an impressive form last season.
The 22-year-old scored 15 goals and created eight assists in 33 appearances for the German Bundesliga side last campaign.
His performance has seen him also attract interest from Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Gunners and the Reds are reported to have made enquiries over a possible bid for Ekitike’s signature.
But a report via L’Equipe, claimed Chelsea have made moves to beat their Premier League rivals to the signing by accelerating their efforts to sign the attacker.
The report further disclosed that the French striker is considering his future after he was dropped from France’s European Under-21 Championship campaign with a back injury.
Ekitike’s current deal with Frankfurt doesn’t expire until June 2029, which means Chelsea will have to make an offer that would lure the German side to let him leave.
