Chelsea legend and technical advisor Petr Cech has backed the current team to go as far as winning the Champions League under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel.

Petr Cech was among the players that made history in Munich by winning Chelsea’s one and only Champions League trophy in 2012 and the club have not made it to the finals ever since.

However, the blues were given another glimpse of hope in the competition when they defeated Atletico Madrid in their round of 16 clash.

Petr Cech while speaking with the club official website has now insisted that Thomas Tuchel has added to the Blues’ chances of winning Europe’s biggest prize this season.

He stated that as a club, Chelsea have the history of being in the Champions League and European Cups, there are still a lot of players in our squad who went through it, who won the European Cup and they will help as well.

Cech pinpointed that the experience of the manager going through European ties all the way to the final is something that might add and help everybody.

According to Cech, the club hope Tuchel will take advantage of their draw and they will progress and we’ll at least get into the further stages of the competition and once you’re in the competition you always want to try and win it.
